WorldArts@FVPS- Learning Outcomes

At the end of the Primary level, students should:

  • develop some appreciation of the diversity of arts forms
i.e. music , dance, theatre, visual arts, literary arts, film and multi-media arts
  • be able to distinguish the various art forms and those from different cultures
  • enjoy and explore the elements of the arts
  • be able to express themselves creatively through the arts

Aesthetics Programmes

The Aesthetics programme is designed in alignment with the Arts framework, ‘WorldArts@FVPS’.  It aims to nurture creativity and enable our pupils to express creatively through the arts, develop appreciation of the diversity of arts forms and those from different cultures.

The 3Es Approach

The curriculum approach will enhance the understanding of different cultures and the environment.  There are three different stages which serve to nurture the pupils’ creative and expressive capacities, and shape their personal, cultural and social identity.

At the Foundation stage, Primary 1/2, all pupils will complete the Arts Exposure programme, for example ‘It’s Art time programme’.   At the Intermediate level, for Primary 3/4, emphasis will be given on the Arts Experience programme, for example ‘Fusion Keyboarding’.  At the Advanced level, Primary 5/6, there is added emphasis on pupils’ involvement in Arts Excursion programme, for example ‘Discovering world music’.

To ensure progression to the three different stages, various creative approaches will be employed across different levels through exciting and meaningful programme such as Arts Learning Journey, Arts Exhibition and Arts Assembly programme. The PAL programme is experiential in nature and encompasses learning in a fun and creative way, incorporating character development and developing pupils’ social emotional learning competencies.

Through partnership with the community such as ‘Satellite Partnership with Fernvale Gardens School via the ‘Aesthetics Immersion programme’, the school hopes to raise pupil’s sensitivity to the wider community and enable them to contribute as active citizens to the community.
